Palma Ceia

Palma Ceia is a neighborhood located southwest of downtown Tampa. It is bounded by Miguel Street to the west and Neptune Street to the east. Residents here enjoy a laid-back lifestyle and are close to the city’s cultural and recreational offerings. There are a variety of residential properties to choose from and plenty of nearby parks and attractions.

For golf enthusiasts, the Palma Ceia Golf Club is an excellent choice. It has hosted the Gasparilla Invitational since 1956, one of the premier amateur golf tournaments in the United States. Palma Ceia is one of the oldest neighborhoods in South Tampa. Many of the streets have Spanish names, which is an apt way to differentiate the neighborhood from the other parts of the city. Palma Ceia is also known for the historic homes found here. Its original name, Palma Ceia, was inspired by the swimming hole near the Bayshore. In 1907, Tampa Bay Land Company sold home sites here for a hundred dollars each. In 1916, the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club opened in the area. This area eventually became the center of South Tampa.

Palma Ceia has a diverse population. While the majority of residents speak English in their homes, there are also significant numbers of Polish and Spanish speakers. As a result, Palma Ceia is a highly diverse neighborhood. It is a great place for families to spend quality time together, recouping from everyday stress.

Palma Ceia is also home to the Palma Ceia Design District, which is located around the intersection of MacDill Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard. This area contains shops, galleries, and cafes. Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club was established in 1916, and is the oldest private golf club in Tampa. It features an 18-hole course with a par-70 layout and has hosted several prestigious tournaments. Former members include Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Walter Hagen. The course also has a fitness center and extended pool deck.

Palma Ceia is a very popular area of Tampa, and has many amenities. The Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club is perhaps its most famous attraction. Besides offering a challenging golf course, the club features a fitness center, Olympic-sized pool, a restaurant, and social activities.
